BIRGUNJ, Sept 9: According to the District Police Office, Parsa, two trucks (Na 3 Kha 5165 and Na 3 Kha 5525) heading to Chitwan from Birgunj that were carrying smuggled goods were taken under control from the Gandak road section of Birgunj Metropolitan City-14 at 8:30PM on Sunday and handed over to the revenue investigation office, Pathalaiya, for further action.

The District Police Office got the information that the trucks used an old declaration form and instead of the goods mentioned in the form, they smuggled clothes and other goods without paying the tax. When a team stopped the trucks heading to Chitwan to check them, the drivers left the vehicles and fled. The trucks were taken under control later and the police claimed that the goods in the truck did not match the declaration forms of the customs and the invoices were different as well.
