Tribhuvan Army club lifts Simara title

BARA, Feb 18: The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has clinched the ninth Simara Gold Cup football tournament defeating Ruslan Three Star Club (TSC) 2-0 in the final on Saturday.

BARA, Feb 18: The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has clinched the ninth Simara Gold Cup football tournament defeating Ruslan Three Star Club (TSC) 2-0 in the final on Saturday. 


At the Simara Stadium, a goal each from Dinesh Hemjan and Nawayug Shrestha was enough to win the title for TAC. TAC had earlier won the sixth edition of the title.

With the win, TAC has been rewarded with Rs 551,000, while TSC got Rs 250,000. 


TAC took the lead through Hemjan in the 58th minute, while it doubled the lead in the 74th minute from Shrestha. Santosh Tamang was named the man-of-the-match. 


Hemjan won the best player of the tournament award and got a Yamaha motorcycle for his contribution. 


The best players of each category and a coach were prized with Rs 15,000 each.

Highest goalscorer- Dinesh Hemjan (TAC) (3 goals)

Best goalkeeper- Bikesh Kuthu (TAC)

Best defender- Bimal Pandey (TAC)

Best midfielder- Nirajan Khadka (TSC)

Best forward- George Prince Karki (TAC)
