In the meantime, the government has given retirement to 25 joint secretaries under the voluntary retirement scheme introduced by the Maoist-led government in May to downsize the country´s bureaucracy.
A three-member committee headed by General Administration Minister Rabindra Shrestha took a decision to this effect on Tuesday, said a senior government official at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. The cabinet had delegated its power to the committee to decide the retirement of the first class bureaucrats.
