Traffic police collect Rs 4 million in fine

KATHMANDU, April 21: The District Traffic Police Office, Khotang, has collected almost 4 million rupees in fines till the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, April 21: The District Traffic Police Office, Khotang, has collected almost 4 million rupees in fines till the first nine months of the current fiscal year. 


The revenue amount was collected from the drivers who violate traffic rules.

During the period, a total of 5,401 vehicles were fined for traffic rules violations, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office Dal Bahadur Khatri said.   


According to traffic police, the drivers were fined for various offenses such as drunk driving, driving without license, high speed and other traffic rules violations.


Police said a total of 19 road accidents took place in the district during the review period, taking lives of five people and injuring 23 others. Most of these road accidents occurred due to traffic rules violations.
