Top leaders engage in discussions to remove obstruction in parliament

KATHMANDU, July 9: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli are holding a meeting at Singha Durbar.

KATHMANDU, July 9: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli are holding a meeting at Singha Durbar. The top leaders of the major parties have been engaged in discussions to remove the obstruction in parliament created by the CPN-UML for the past few days.  


Earlier, the ruling coalition had decided to discuss the matter with the CPN-UML to clear the ongoing obstruction in parliament. On Sunday morning, the meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, decided to discuss with the UML to clear the obstruction in parliament.

UML is disrupting today's meeting of the National Assembly and it has already said that it will also disrupt the meeting of the House of Representatives until PM Dahal resigns. 


After Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, made a public statement that Sardar Pritam Singh had made several efforts to make Dahal the Prime Minister and that he had also visited Delhi several times for the same purpose, the UML has been obstructing meetings of both houses of the Federal Parliament. The UML has been demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister.
