An independent jury of three members for each category selected top five nominees for 21 different categories from 409 nominations which were received from 40 different agencies. [break]
Though there are altogether 24 categories, 3 categories Best Creative Youth, Most Popular TVC, and Best Agency will be announced only on the final day.
According to AAN President Raj Kumar Bhattarai, the association plans to reveal the names of the award winners at a mega ceremony at Soaltee Crowne Plaza on January 7.
This year, apart from regular categories, AAN for the first time is awarding Best TVC female model and Best TVC male model in order to honor the role of models in the ad industry.
With the slogan Freedom for Advertising, the 5-member jury under the leadership of Yadav Kharel will announce the final winner. Among the 40 participating agencies, V-Chitra, Welcome Advertising Agency, Prismark Marketing, Business Advantage, Outreach Nepal, Linez Ad, Benchmark had filed nominations in most categories.
Among various agencies that have applied, highest number of nominations were received by V-Chitra, Welcome Advertising Agency, Business Advantage, Linez Ad and Munz Ad. V-Chitra has been nominated in 15 different categories, Welcome Advertising Agency in 13 categories, Business Advantage in 11 categories, Linez Ad in 9 categories, Munz Ad in 8 categories.
Speaking on the occasion, Santosh Shrestha, general secretary of AAN, said Crity Awards has created a special platform for indigenously produced advertisements and has benefited advertisers, agencies, consumers and media as a whole.
According to AAN, advertising industry in Nepal has been growing by 10 to 15 percent every year and the industry is worth Rs 4.32 billion currently.
AAN organized the first Crity Awards in 2004 with an objective to enhancing the Nepali advertising industry in terms of professionalism, creativity and industrialization of the advertising sector.
