7th AceTravels.com Crity Awards coming soon

KATHMANDU, July 31: Hosted as the Abbey Award of Nepal, Crity Awards organised by Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN) since 2004 in order to reward creativity of advertising professionals in Nepal has created its own space in Nepali advertising industry.



Giving continuity to the celebration of advertising excellence, preparations for the 7th Ace Travels.com Crity Awards is going on in full swing.[break]



“AAN organized a pre-event program to get feedback regarding categories and criteria for selection,” said Raj Kumar Bhattari, president of AAN. General Secretary of AAN Santosh Shrestha presented the history of Crity Awards during the event.



Besides regular 22 categories, two new categories Best TVC female model and Best TVC male model have been added this year. “We have been adding new categories every year and this year we have included the model category as acting and expression play a major role to make ad beautiful,” informed Nirmal Raj Paudel, immediate past president of AAN.



Besides, amendment has been made for the Best Creative Youth award category added last year.



This year, to participate in this category interested people below 28 years have to make a group of two and apply at AAN. According to Bhattarai, it is a free competition and in the first phase those who apply are given a topic on which they have to submit their ad within 24 hours. In the second phase, top 5 are selected and are kept in a closed camp and given a topic and on the basis of their performance, a group is awarded the title.



The group who wins the title will participate in Ad Fest in Thailand organized by Asian Federation of Advertising Festival to be held in March in Thailand.



In order to make Crity Awards free from controversies like in the previous years, a five-member jury has been constituted under the coordination of Yadav Kharel. The jury members include Dr Vinay K C, Dr Bhoj Raj Aryal, Rabindra Man Shrestha and Charu Chadda.



Nomination for the award under 24 categories which started from first week of July will end on Monday and till date around 13 agencies have submitted their nominations. “We hope more agencies will submit their nominations till Monday,” said Bhattarai.



This annual award, a mega festival of overall Nepali ad and media industry, is aimed to enhance the Nepali advertising industry in term of professionalism, creativity and industrialization of advertising sector. However, final date for the most-awaited award is yet to be announced. Bhattarai informed Republica that AAN has targeted to collect Rs 6 million from the event. Ace Travels is the title sponsor for this year while individual categories will be sponsored by different brands. At present, 170 ad agencies are registered with AAN.
