KATHMANDU, July 24: With a session named 'Stand up, speak up, shut up', Toastmasters International is organizing a digital event with renowned Toastmaster Chendil Kumar.

The event is specially intended for people who desire to learn the art of effortless humor.

Division N under toastmaster international, led by Division Director Anish Dixit, is organizing the virtual event where toastmaster Kumar will share his experiences on how you can make public speaking sessions fun and interesting. Subrath Paudel, the director of area N3 is leading the event.

Since 1924, Toastmasters International has served as a responsible non-profit educational organization dedicating itself to coaching public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.

In other words, it is a learn-by-doing workshop and a forum where speakers, beginners and experienced people can attend to hone their speaking skills. In Nepal, the Toastmasters movement started in 1991 with the commencement of Kathmandu Toastmasters Club.

Currently, running with more than 1,000 members, and over 35 clubs within 3 divisions (Division A, Division N and Division O), Toastmasters has undoubtedly been succeeding as the biggest platform for public speaking and leadership in Nepal.

An avid toastmaster himself, Chendil Kumar, better known as CK is a civil engineer by training and a trainer by choice. He has served as an excellent orator in over 200 speeches in more than 20 countries under his belt. Serving as a toastmaster since 2000 AD, Kumar is also an acclaimed public speaker having spoken at five TEDx events in India and DUBAI.

Previously, Toastmasters in Nepal had conducted a digital session in Kathmandu with Mark Brown, world champion in public speaking of 1995. In the session, he had shared tips and directions to conquer the fear of public speaking.
