KATHMANDU, April 3: The agitating Tarai Madhes Sadhbhawana Party (TMSP) on Sunday welcomed the joint statement by India and European Union calling for 'lasting and inclusive constitutional settlement’ in Nepal.

A meeting of central work execution committee of the party welcomed the statement.

TMSP senior leader Rameshwor Raya said that the party hailed the statement for being in favor of demands of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).

“We welcomed the joint statement by EU and India as it has addressed our demands,” he said, “It is an example of international community standing in side of oppressed and discriminated communities.”

Likewise, the meeting has appealed the defectors to rejoin the party.

“The meeting has requested those deserting the party to rejoin for a fight against discrimination,” Raya told Republica Online.
