KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal announced that the Transitional Justice (TJ) Bill has entered the final stages for presentation in the parliament.
He said that a parliamentary sub-committee would pass the TJ Bill within the next five days and is currently preparing for its presentation to the parliament.
Lack of quorum delays presentation of bill in parliament
He added that there has been a delay in providing support from state to the families of martyrs due to the transitional justice related issues concerning the pending works of the Commission for the Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons.
Prime Minister Dahal claimed that once the peace process is concluded, People's War Day will be reinstated and observed with a holiday. He said that the court had refused to declare the People's War Day as a national holiday due to remaining tasks of the peace process.
