TIA radar system partially operational

By
KATHMANDU, Jan 10: The Radar System of Tribhuvan International Airport that suddenly broke down on January 8, became partially operational on Monday, TIA chief Dinesh Shrestha said.

"We are co-ordinating with JICA experts to sort out the problem.

A JICA team might arrive in Kathmandu in a few days," he added. With the Radar System not functioning, the airport has been operating flights under Procedure Control Service.

"Breakdown of radar system does not pose safety hazards to flights. But there might be delays in take-offs and landings," Shrestha said.
