ITAHARI, July 22: Under the East-West Highway, in Ward-17 of Itahari, Three people were killed in a tragic accident that took place in Itahari Municipality l7 along the East-West Highway on Friday night. The accident took place after a Bolero jeep collided with a motorcycle carrying four people.
The Indian Bolero with registration number WB 73 E 9117 traveling from East to West collided with a motorcycle with registration number KO 29 PA 3712 coming from West to East in Ward-16 of Itahari. The victims were identified as 26-year-old Karan Chaudhary, 27-year-old Shambhu Chaudhary, and 24-year-old Aninesh Chaudhary. They were declared dead during treatment.
Three killed in motorcycle accident in Sarlahi
Karan Chaudhary and Shambhu Chaduaruy died at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan on Friday at 9.26 a.m., according to Koshi Province Level Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office Itahari. According to traffic police, Aninesh Chaudhary died during treatment at 6 AM on Saturday.
Premlal Chaudhary, 27, of Itahari municipality-17, who was a student was injured in the incident. He is being treated at Golden Hospital Biratnagar.
The police have taken the Bolero driver, 22-year-old Govinda Varmun , 22 of Darjeeling and the truck into custody and started investigation. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the accident happened because the motorcycle was speeding.
