LALITPUR, Dec 30: A three-day festival aiming to foster social harmony and goodwill kicked off at Lalitpur metropolis-19 on Friday. The event hosted by the local level aims to promote social comity and tourism industry.

Exhibitions of wooden crafts that are used for making a chariot during the festival of Rato Machchhindranath Jatra, idols of historical figures like king Narendra Dev, Bandhudutta Acharya and Lalit Jyapu who had roles in bringing Rato Machhindranath to the Kathmandu Valley are parts of the festival. Likewise, it will feature a 'Jyapu' Museum at Agnishal.
The event will focus on the promotion of local products, highlighting objects of historical importance, local culture and arts, it is said.
