Sanyukta chose to name the boutique “Behuli” in order to pay homage to her Nepali roots and as a sign of respect to those local village women who hand-weave all of the fabrics used in her clothes. Behuli in Nepali means bride.
Sanyukta’s Behuli evokes the beauty of a woman on her wedding day and echoes her sentiments of ‘Beauty with a conscience’ which is all about providing a luxury bridal wear that is individual and ethical. Behuli has started out with a motto of servicing each bride as an individual with unique needs. Therefore, the entire team plans to focus on getting to know the brides personally, and understanding their needs before assisting them in finding the dream dresses for their big day.
The launch event also showcased the luxurious, yet ethical and vintage Audrey Hepburn-inspired wedding gowns from the 2014 collection. Though the demand for Sanyukta’s collections has been growing through luxury bridal boutiques in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, this will be the designer’s first independent flagship boutique in London.
“We are very excited to expand on our passion and continue to share this incredible journey with many, many more brides and our stockists,” Sanyuka says.
