Nepal is scheduled to wrap up its ASEAN tour playing against Thailand national team on November 3 after playing against U-23 (Olympic) team on October 31.
Floodwater entered Bangkok and surrounding areas on October 12 and there is no sign of it receding. The flood has crippled the life in Bangkok and other parts of the country. It is predicted that the flood will continue around Bangkok for six more weeks.
"Thailand Football Association has written to us requesting to rethink regarding the date of friendly matches due to natural crisis in Thailand," Lalit Krishna Shrestha, vice-president and spokesperson of All Nepal Football Association told the Republica.
"There are chances of friendly matches being postponed and the dates shall be confirmed next week if the situation turns favorable. The friendly matches may be conducted later if the floods affect the game and playing conditions. However, we will undergo training if friendly matches are not possible," Shrestha said.
Nepal, which left for ASEAN tour on October 8, played its first match against Philippines on October 11 in Manila and lost it 4-0. Similarly, Nepal lost 2-0 against U-23 team of Malaysia on October 15 and while the match against Malaysia U-23 played on Friday was called off during the first half following heavy downpour.
Currently, Nepali squad led by British coach Graham Roberts is undergoing training in Malaysia. Nepal will leave for friendly against U-23 team of Cambodia on October 28.
