Teenager gang-raped in Myagdi for declining sex proposal

MYAGDI, May 24: Police on Thursday made public three persons accused of gang-raping a 15-year-old girl of Dandakhet, Beni Municipality-4, Myagdi district, on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the girl was going to toilet when she was captured by Krishna BK, 25, Bikash Kishan, 21, and Prem Kishan,19, of Beni-5, who were returning from a fair organized in neighboring Daduwa village. It has been learnt that the accused had initially made a sex proposal to the girl which she declined.

According to Mahendra Prasad Marasini, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), the victim has stated that the accused saw her alone outside her home and forcefully took her to a nearby field and raped her. The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm on Tuesday. "We were able to identify and arrest the accused within 24 hours after the victim filed a complaint," said DSP Marasini.

According to the statements given by two of the accused, BK repeatedly raped the girl. "We have found that the victim knew one of the accused. We will find out more after further investigations into the case," said Marasini.

Police caught BK while he was iding in Rum village of Malika Rural Municipality. BK had returned home from foreign employment only six months ago. According to the preliminary police investigation, BK was the one who encouraged the other two accused to rape the teenager.

After finding her daughter unconscious, the ictim's mother had reported the incident to the police station at Tatopani. Police have conducted the health checkup of the victim along with all three accused. The victim has sustained injuries on various parts of her body. Police have intensified the investigation into the case after the court remanded the accused into judicial custody for three days. The family members of the girl have demanded life imprisonment for the accused.
