Tamakoshi River washes away of transmission line tower, cutting power supply to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The main transmission line that supplies electricity to Kathmandu has been disrupted after tower no. 7 of the Khimti-Lamasanghu line was washed away by the Tamakoshi River.

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The main transmission line that supplies electricity to Kathmandu has been disrupted after tower no. 7 of the Khimti-Lamasanghu line was washed away by the Tamakoshi River. 


The damage to this 132 kV transmission line has halted electricity supply to the Kathmandu Valley. According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, power will be supplied intermittently until the line is repaired.

Additionally, the Dhalkebar-Pathlaiya transmission line has also been blocked, affecting power supply to  Dhalkebar West.
