KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the gruesome murder of a man at Gongabu in Tokha Municipality-10 on Sunday.
A special team of police arrested Kalpana Shahi from Chitwan in connection to the murder of Krishna Bahadur Bohora, an official at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range Office told Republica. The arrested is under the control of the District Police Office, Chitwan.
The source further added that the Chitwan Police is preparing to send the arrested Shahi to Kathmandu in coordination with a special team sent from Kathmandu.
Three people arrested along with 713 passports
According to a source at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, the woman was arrested after preliminary investigation showed her possible involvement in the murder. “The investigation found that Bohora was murdered in her rented flat,” the source added.
On Sunday, Bohora’s torso was found inside a suitcase in the Gongabu area. His head and legs were cut off from his body using a sharp weapon.
The torso and his chopped off legs were found inside the suitcase, while the head was recovered some 300 meters away from the incident site.
Police were able to reach the rented room of Shahi with the help of trained dogs. The rented room is almost 50 meters away from the place where the suitcase was recovered.
