Supraj Rai elected FONIJ Udayapur chairman

UDAYAPUR, Feb 12: Supraj Rai has been elected as the chairman of Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Journalists (FONIJ) Udayapur Chapter.

UDAYAPUR, Feb 12: Supraj Rai has been elected as the chairman of Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Journalists (FONIJ) Udayapur Chapter.


Supraj has been elected chairman by defeating his closest rival Devraj Rai by a vote in the third district convention.

Despite efforts were made to elect the chairman unanimously, it failed and the convention went for the election in the evening.


Of the total 26 votes were cast in the election, Supraj got 13 votes while Devraj got 12 votes. A vote was declared invalid, said the election committee.


Those elected to the executive committee officer bearers are Urmila Danuwar (vice chairman), Ishwar Balampaki Magar (secretary), Ganga Rai (vice secretary), Tamsher Rai (Treasurer).


Similarly, Bijaya Rai, Durgananda Chaudhari and Lalit Tamang have been elected as members, informed election committee coordinator Kaushal Chemjong.
