Sunshine since morning in Kathmandu; windy weather expected later in the evening

KATHMANDU, April 1: The weather is expected to remain generally clear in most parts of the country today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), there is currently an influence of westerly winds and local winds across Nepal.


According to the MFD, currently the weather is expected to be partly clear in the hilly areas of the country including Kathmandu valley and Koshi province and the rest of the area is mostly clear.

The weather in Kathmandu valley is generally clear and the sun has been shining since morning, although it may become windy later in the evening.


The MFD has said that the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy across the country this afternoon. The MFD officials have also stated that there is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Hilly regions may experience mostly clear weather, while other areas may witness partly cloudy conditions. There is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas, along with light snowfall in high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.


Similarly, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy over the country tonight. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. Moreover, the weather is likely to be partly cloudy in hilly areas and mainly clear elsewhere. Light snowfall may occur in high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, according to the MFD.
