Police had to use force to open the disrupted road. At least, 15 demonstrators have been detained during the protest. Currently, protestors have gathered at Dhobighat to stage a similar demonstration.

The locals have maintained that the government should not relocate the squatters to the new place without first consulting with stakeholders.
