KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Different student organizations held demonstrations on Thursday also protesting the exorbitant hike in cooking gas price.

The student unions are calling for withdrawing the price hike that has been postponed for now and implementing forthwith the provision of student subsidy cards.

The students organizations including the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) and the Nepal Students Union (NSU) halted vehicular traffic on the roads in front of different colleges in the Kathmandu Valley from 8 am to 10 am.

NSU spokesman UP Lamichhane said that although the government has put on hold the decision to hike the LPG price for the time being, their protest programmes would continue until the decision was scrapped.
