KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Representatives of Startup Summit Nepal 2026 met Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Amir Khan at the Embassy of Pakistan in Maharajgunj on Monday to discuss youth entrepreneurship, skills development, and opportunities for Nepal-Pakistan cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khan praised Nepal’s natural diversity and the hardworking nature of its people. He stressed the need to create opportunities for Nepali youth within the country and pledged support for the Startup Summit Nepal 2026 initiative. “You prepare for the program and move forward. I am ready to provide the necessary support for cooperation and exchange of experiences between Nepali and Pakistani youth,” Khan said.
The ambassador also sought information about Nepal’s business environment, entrepreneurship prospects and the situation of Nepali youth. He welcomed the fact that many Nepalis who go abroad for education and employment later return home with valuable knowledge, skills and experience.

Startup Summit Nepal 2026 Chairperson Shova Gyawali briefed the ambassador on the summit’s objectives and upcoming plans. She said the initiative aims to encourage educated, skilled and hardworking Nepali youth to pursue opportunities within Nepal.
Gyawali said the summit is being organized under the theme, “Let’s Use Our Knowledge and Skills in Our Own Country,” with a focus on promoting entrepreneurship, self-reliance and youth engagement. She emphasized the need to create an environment where young people can apply their knowledge and skills at home.
She also highlighted the potential for Nepal-Pakistan collaboration in youth entrepreneurship, technology, education, skills development and business exchanges, saying stronger cooperation between the younger generations of the two countries could further strengthen bilateral ties.
Ambassador Khan welcomed the initiative and reiterated his support for fostering cooperation and experience-sharing between Nepali and Pakistani youth.
The meeting was attended by embassy officials, Startup Summit Nepal 2026 Chairperson Gyawali, keynote speaker Engineer Umesh Kumar Gupta, and directors Basudev Neupane and Narayan Prasad Oli.
