KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Newly-appointed Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit BK Sripali and National Sports Council's Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista on Tuesday vowed to work together for the development of Nepali sports.

Sripali was appointed minister from CPN (Maoist Center) quota while Bista was nominated Member Secretary from CPN-UML quota. In the past, there had always been disputes between minister and member secretary belonging to different political parties bringing sports to a standstill. And a similar situation is expected to arise this time as well. However, the minister and member secretary both promised to move ahead unitedly.

"We both are from different political background but we are cautious not to politicize Nepali sports," said Minister Sripali during a program organized at the National Sports Council to welcome him on Tuesday. "I will let Bista to function properly as member secretary and won't put him in trouble in my tenure," said Sripali.

Congratulating the newly-appointed minister, Member Secretary Bista said, "I am hopeful that Nepali sports will take new heights during his tenure. We both share same objective of developing Nepali sports, so we can achieve that working together."
