Sridiwa start with win<br/>TIA, Kathmandu Valley triumph

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: The hosts Sridiwa International School started on a winning note under the senior boys´ category in the Fifth Monsoon Meet Basketball Tournament that kick started at Kamalpohari on Saturday. Sridiwa beat Subhatara 45-34 with 13 crucial points from Krishna Gurung. [break]



Kantipur and Arunodaya too started their run with victories in senior girls and junior boys´ category. Kantipur defeated Ullens 32-3 and Arunodaya thrashed NOBS 30-11.



Twelve teams each are participating in junior boys and senior girl´s category, while 16 teams are contesting in senior boys´ category.





TIA, Kathmandu Valley triumph



KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Tungram International Academy (TIA) and Kathmandu Valley School won their respective matches on Saturday in the Fourth Kwik´s Greenland Inter-School Basketball Tournament being held at the Greenland School´s Basketball Court.



In senior boy´s category, TIA beat Awareness International school riding on the 12 points each of Santosh Shrestha and Prashant Tamang. In other matches, Golden Peak and Newton emerged victorious. Golden peak outplayed Neric 22-13 and Kathmandu Valley crushed Buddha Academy 30-10.



In junior boy´s category, AIA, Neric and Deepjyoti won their matches. AIA beat Gaurishankar 12-8 while Neric edged out Pushpa Sadan 32-13. Similarly, Deep Jyoti beat Golden Peak 16-11, while the host Greenland defeated Ganesh 21-10.
