221,000 employees deployed for HoR election

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Over 221,000 employees are being deployed across 165 constituencies to conduct the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.



They will be stationed at 23,112 polling centres in 165 electoral constituencies, along with 143 temporary polling centres set up exclusively for proportional representation voting across the country’s 77 districts.

Election Commission (EC) Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Neupane said arrangements have been made to deploy nine staff members at polling centres with more than 500 voters and eight staff members at centres with fewer than 500 voters.


The EC stated that after training the election officers and assistant election officers assigned to polling centres, the election officers will, in turn, train other staff members assigned to the centres.


The EC also confirmed that election materials and ballot papers had reached all 165 electoral constituencies by Thursday.
