Sports has become victim of politics: Thapa

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal (RPP-N) Kamal Thapa, said the sports sector of the country has been the victim of politics for the last two decades.



Addressing an interaction on ´Youth sportspersons´ role in upcoming Constituent Assembly election´ organized by the National Democratic Youth Association, a sister organization of the RPP-Nepal, in the capital on Sunday, Thapa stressed on the need of making the sports sector free from politics and the nation should produce talented players.[break]



Chairman Thapa said the sportspersons should take the facts and national politics among the people during the CA election in a positive manner and that they should play role in maintaining political stability. He said national prosperity was possible if political leaders maintained discipline like the players.



Party Co-chairman, Padma Sundar Lawati, senior leader Keshar Bahadur Bista, Joint General Secretary, Rajaram Shrestha among others said the sports sector helps in making a person clean and healthy and that such people could play positive role in maintaining social justice in the society.
