The course was conducted by physiotherapists Dr Narayan Silwal and Laxman Adhikari. Earlier, inaugurating the program, NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama said that the course was held as a part of NSC´s plans of modernizing the sports sector step by step. Lama also said that he would take initiatives to increase the monthly allowance being provided to the players undergoing training in the national team. [break]
Nepal Bank chess tourney next week
KATHMANDU: Nepal Bank Limited is about to organize a five-day chess tournament next week to mark its 76th anniversary. The Nepal Bank Limited Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament will be held from November 18 to 22, informed Rambihari Sah, coordinator of the bank´s anniversary organizing committee.
The tournament will be held in Swiss league format with nine rounds and will be held at the bank´s central training office, Kupondol, Lalitpur. The total prize money of the rating chess tournament is Rs 90,000, according to the organizing committee´s member Raghubar Pradhan. The winner of the rated section will bag Rs 25,000, while the top player in the unrated section will be awarded Rs 2,500.
