Popular footwear brand Bata has announced 10 percent discount on all its products on the occasion of Teej festival. The offer can be availed from all Bata showrooms across the country. Similarly, Shree Balaji Diamond has announced 30 percent off on jewelries and surprise gifts hampers. Ridhhi Sidhhi Jewellers has announced 30 percent discount on working charge on gold jewelries and 30 percent discount on diamond jewelries. Another jewelry store Ananda Jewelers is also giving 50 percent discount on working charges on gold jewelries.[break]
Dealers of mobile phones are also not behind when it comes to announcing special offers for Teej festival. Shankar Impex - the authorized distributor of Wynncom mobiles - has unveiled new models especially for the Teej festival. The company is also offering cash discount of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 on Wynncom mobile sets. “We have announced Teej offer to make our customers happy,” said Jyoti Chaudhary of Shanker Impex. “Such offers also help boost sales.”
Seng Yoan Housing at Sorakhutte has unveiled special discount offer on its apartments and standalone houses. Similarly, NB Bank is giving away special gifts like bangles, glass bead necklace and tika for women who open new accounts at the bank until September 19.
Besides these special offers, most of the sari stores at Makhan are offering 20 percent festive discount on Teej collection. Similarly, stores dealing on cosmetic products, bangles and glass beads are also offering up to 10 percent discount on their products.
Despite introducing attractive discount and offers, traders say overall transactions ahead of the Teej festival is decreasing compared to past years. Jagdish Agrawal, who has been selling saris for the past three decades, said that demand for saris has been decreasing mainly because women these days prefer saris only during weddings and special occasions. “As most of the women prefers other casual dresses, thanks to changing lifestyle, demand for saris during Teej has gone down by around 50 percent compared to few years ago,” said Agrawal.
