POKHARA, May 2: Ghandruk village of Kaski district is offering special discounts to domestic tourists on the occasion of Annapurna Sanctuary Tourism Festival and Annapurna Marathon to be held next month.
Tourists can avail discounts between May 31 and June 5, according to Kisim Gurung, president of the Ghandruk Tourism Management Committee.

Annapurna Marathon is being held on June 3 on the anniversary of the first summit of Mt Annapurna I back in 1950.
The festival is expected to promote tourism in the Annapurna Region in the off season when number of foreign tourists fall.
According to Gurung, the committee aims to attract maximum number of Nepali tourists this year and the offer is valid for any Nepali citizen travelling up to the Annapurna Base Camp.”
At present, Nepalis have to pay between Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,200 per night in Ghandruk. This price includes lodging along with breakfast and dinner for a day. Between May 31 and June 5, however, the package can be availed at Rs 750 per person.
“We have decreased package fee for Nepali tourists so as to attract more tourists during the festival and the marathon,” Gurung added.
