Lawmaker Man Bahadur Bishwakarma, Daljit BK Sripaili and Jitu Darji Gautam, among several other demonstrators, were injured during police intervention. Also other activists injured during the protest include Ganesh BK, Parshuram Ramtel, Binod Pahadi, Dharmaraj Bishwakarma and Ranendra Barali.
Lawmakers from various political parties condemned home minister and police officials accusing them of using excessive force even as the representatives from Dalit communities were holding peaceful protests demanding rights in the new constitution. They said altogether 26 protestors were injured while some others were arrested by police. The protestors disrupted vehicular movement for an hour across the country.

UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Agni Sapkota, Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Dipak Giri, CPN-UML's Bhanubhakta Dhakal criticized the home minister and police officials for trying to suppress Dalit activists. "I hereby direct the home minister to answer the lawmakers who have drawn the government's attention toward the incident at the next parliament sitting on Wednesday," the speaker announced at the House meeting.
Also, lawmakers from Dalit communities including Min Bishwakarma, Khadga Bahadur Basyal Sarki, Karna Bahadur BK and Aphilal Ukheda demanded action against police officials involved in using excessive force in the peaceful rally.
They accused the major political forces and state agencies of showing reluctance to address their valid demands.
