KATHMANDU, Nov 27: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the social security scheme has been launched with much fanfare and gusto to demonstrate the presence of the government.

"Melamchi drinking water project and Kalanki-Nagdhunga road construction are the achievements made by the government", said Oli, adding, "We will clean the roads of Kathmandu once the Melamchi drinking water project takes a complete shape," said Oli.

Oli, who seemed concerned with the unfulfilled promises he had made before the people during the elections, tried to placate the people saying that there is no reason for being worried.

Oli boasted that a lot of achievements have been made already in the country. "People wanted to overthrow the Rana regime. It was overthrown. Similarly, Panchayet and Monarchy were also overthrown due to people's struggles," he stated.

Oli further said that the people's democracy has now been established by ousting decades-long monarchy where the state can guarantee that no citizens have to die of hunger.

Meanwhile, Oli said that the state has the policy to come hard on those groups involved in sectarian violence, provocative activities intended to split the country.
