SIMKOT, Feb 4: Snowfall has resumed in Humla since this morning, marking the fourth snowfall this year in the district.
Although it was sunny on Saturday afternoon, the weather suddenly changed overnight leading to continuous snowfall since morning. The disruption of air services, the primary means of inter-district transport in the region, has been caused by the snowfall.
Services from private airlines, operating one or two flights from Nepalgunj and Surkhet, have been disrupted.

Snowfall since this morning has prevented air flights from Nepalgunj and Surkhet, causing passengers traveling from Humla to Nepalgunj and Surkhet to be stranded at Simkot.
Lokendra Bohora, from the Simkot branch office of Tara Air, mentioned that while Tara Air had a flight from Nepalgunj on Saturday, other aircraft could not take off due to the prevailing weather conditions.
Gokhar Bhandari, a health worker at Limi Health Post, reported an additional one inch of snow accumulation in Simikot, the district headquarters, and two inches more in Limi of Northern Namkha Rural Municipality since morning.
According to health worker Bhandari, the extreme cold in Limi has made people's lives difficult. He said that the cold has created problems for the locals of Limi.
Bhandari said that due to the cold, it was difficult to go outside of the house and walk. In addition to snowfall, thick snow is accumulating in the high areas of Limi, Hilsa, Nara Lekh, Yangar, etc of Northern Namkha Rural Municipality.
Most of the high areas including Northern Namkha, Simkot, and Kharpunath are experiencing snowfall in the morning, while it is raining in low-lying areas.
Kamal Bhandari, the local Kamal Bhandari, said that this time, the snowfall after two consecutive days has helped the early crops wheat, barley, to grow well.
