KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Six parliamentary committees of the House of Representatives (HoR) are scheduled to hold their meetings today.
In the meeting of the Finance Committee, which is scheduled for 11 AM, there will be a discussion on the Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080, with the Attorney General and the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Similarly, at 11 AM, the meeting of the Industry, Commerce, Labor, and Consumer Welfare Committee will discuss the monitoring and actions taken by the Department of Foreign Employment regarding pre-departure orientation training providers for workers going for foreign employment. The meeting will also discuss the renewal process of foreign employment agencies, the petition from the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies, the ministry's preparations related to updating labor laws, and the economic irregularities in air ticket supply. Additionally, the meeting will address complaints received from workers going to South Korea through the EPS (Employment Permit System).
Likewise, the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee will meet at 11 AM to discuss with members the proposed amendments to the bill on legislative arrangements.
The Women and Social Affairs Committee, also meeting at 11 AM, will discuss the management of social workers. In the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee meeting at 2 PM, the report of the sub-committee on the Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2077, will be presented and discussed.
Finally, in the meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, to be held at 11 AM, there will be a discussion with the Ministry regarding the implementation status and achievements of issues related to the Ministry of Forest and Environment as expressed in the Government's Policies and Programs for FY 2024/25 and Budget Statement 2024/25.
