KATHMANDU, August 22: The third solo art exhibition themed ‘Sensitive Difficult Reflections’ was on display from August 14 to August 21 at the J Art Gallery in Thahity.

The exhibition showcased 26 paintings by Hari Nepali, and was inaugurated by senior artist Kiran Manadhar.

Hari’s paintings mostly portrayed nude women as “pure beauty” with supporting objects such as horses and elephants. The animals symbolized vitality and physical beauty. Blends of acrylic, poster and water colors were painted in jute pieces.

The event served as a medium for Nepali and non Nepali artists to dwell over the concept of human sensuality through various images and peculiar subjects. The usage of traditional methods like Nepali paper, jute and charcoal made the paintings absolutely different from rest of artworks in other exhibitions.

Moreover, with murky strokes of color painted on jute pieces, the subjects held an eccentric contact between each other.

“With the hope that this exhibition will help preserve the ancient method of painting, I have tried a different approach of using homely materials to sustain the beauty of art and artist’s enthusiasm,” said Hari.
