INARUWA, Jan 16: Senior journalist of Sunsari, Damber Bahadur Thapa, passed away at his residence at Inaruwa-6 this morning. He was 71. 

He was suffering from asthma. Thapa was honoured with ‘Srijanshil Journalism Award’ for his free and independent journalism during Panchyat regime. 

Also the founder member of Press Club established in Biratnagar, he started his journalism career from ‘Matribhumi’ weekly. 

Sunsari chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists and Nepal Press Union expressed sorrow over the demise of journalist Thapa.
