KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Popular stage performer and senior actor Bishnu Bhakta Phuyal has passed away at Jamal-based Nachghar in the capital on Tuesday. He was 79.
Artist Phuyal collapsed due to brain hemorrhage while performing in the play titled ‘Maharshi Yagyabalka’ being staged at Nachghar.
Phuyal, who was rushed to Bir Hospital for treatment, was pronouned dead by the doctors.
Actor Phuyal's dead body will be kept at Nepal Royal Academy for condolence from 11 am to 2 pm tomorrow, actor Maniram Pokharel told Republica Online.
"Phuyal is a dedicated and hardworking artist. He is a source of inspiration to all. His sudden death has created an irreparable damage to the field of Nepali movies," said artist Bhola Sapkota.
Phuyal has performed in TV serials, films and in various satges.
Phuyal, who hails from Bouddha, Mahankal, is survived by three sons.
