So far 2,197 Nepal Army Personnel have contracted the virus


KATHMANDU, Sept 26: A Nepal Army personnel succumbed to COVID-19 in Kathmandu on Friday.


The deceased was from Bajhang district.

According to a press statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relation and Information of Nepal Army, the soldier was admitted to Birendra Hospital on Sept 22 after witnessing symptoms of seizure. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital on Sept 25.


He had tested positive for the COVID-19 on September 24.


With this, two Nepal Army personnel have died of COVID-19 in Nepal so far.


As of Saturday, as many as 2,197 Nepal Army personnel have been diagnosed with COVID-19 while 593 have recovered.
