KATHMANDU, May 6: The Supreme Court has upheld the order issued by the District Court of Rautahat to keep former minister Mohammed Aftab Alam to stand trial while still remaining in custody.
Alam has been framed, argues Alam's lawyer Raman Shrestha
Upon rejection of his request by the district court, Alam had taken the request to the Supreme Court and requested to stand trial while staying outside prison. However, a joint bench of Supreme Court justices Sushmalata Mathema and Nahakul Subedi on Friday upheld the order issued by the Rautahat district court.
