KATHMANDU, July 8: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interlocutory order, asking the government to give continuity to Yubaraj Adhikari as Nepal Airlines Corporation’s (NAC) Executive Chairperson.
The apex Court maintained that since Adhikari was appointed for four years by the erstwhile government his term needs to be enforced. Meanwhile, the SC also prohibited current General Manager at NAC, Dipuraj Jwarchan from working in his current capacity.
NAC employees protest demanding removal of Executive Chairman
Adhikari was appointed by the government on October 28, 2021.
Petitioner maintained that Adhikari's appointment letter had explicitly mentioned that he was appointed for four years' term but wrong provision of NAC Act, 2019 BS was invoked by the government to sack him. Section 20 of the NAC Act does not allow the government to suspend and sack the Executive Chairperson of the NAC, argued the SC.
