The bench also scheduled a case on whether or not to issue special order over the lapsed court dates and the deadlines prescribed by the concerning laws due to the lockdown.

CJ Rana did not include Justice Dambar Bahadur Shahi who is going to retire in a few days. This was the first time that the apex court justices will share the bench for discussing the case.

In 1964, all the SC justices bench was formed in order to decide a case filed by Tunga SJB Rana Vs Indian Airlines seeking compensation. Lawyers said that this would be a historical event and a serious need to address the hurdles persisting in the judicial sector.
