KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Santosh Pariyar, Chairman of the Presidium of the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, has been nominated for India's prestigious Dr. Ambedkar International Award for Social Change 2025.
Pariyar departed for New Delhi today to receive the honour. Announcing the news on social media, he said he has always been inspired by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s. He quoted Ambedkar saying, “Be educated, be organized, and fight.”

He said, it brings him joy and a deep sense of seriousness and responsibility to be associated with Ambedkar’s name. The award is presented to honor individuals and organizations globally for outstanding contributions to social justice, fighting inequality, supporting the underprivileged, and promoting human dignity.
Pariyar is active for his role to end social discrimination among other issues that are deep rooted in Nepali society.
Pariyar noted that Dr. Ambedkar had demonstrated that “knowledge has neither time nor boundaries,” and pledged to continue doing everything within his capacity for people across the world who have been oppressed, marginalized, or excluded from cultural, economic, and political spheres.
According to him, the award ceremony will take place in New Delhi on December 13 and 14. He also invited friends and well-wishers who can attend the event to meet him there.
