Earlier, during the curtain raiser, Shree Laligurans Pulchowk Sports Club and Birgunj Youth Academy settled for 1-1 draw. Sanjay Gurung had put Shree Laligurans ahead, but Krishna Shakya scored the equalizer for Birjung Youth Academy.
Two top teams of the league will advance to the A division while top six teams will qualify for B division national league to be held later in the current season.
Similarly, in the C Division League held at Chyasal ground, Sanepa and Khumaltar Club registered victories. Sanepa Club thrashed Garuda Club 5-1.
John Subba netted twice and Utshav Lama and Khadga Bahadur Dhimal netted one apiece. Garuda conceded an own goal. Dipesh Pun scored the consolation for the losing team. In another match, Khumaltar defeated Nawajyoti Youth Club 3-0.
Naresh Duwale scored two goals and Khagendra Pun netted another for the winning side.
Uniformity in national jersey
ANFA President Thapa said that the jersey of the national team will henceforth be of same brand and same design. Earlier, there was no proper design and brand of the national jersey.
"ANFA had initiated for uniformity in jersey following complaints that there is no uniformity in national team´s jersey," Thapa said. The jersey will be of blue and red color. Nepal is competing in SAFF Championship in December.
