KATHMANDU, March 4: CMG Sankata Club won the title of Tilottama Gold Cup today in Butwal. Sankata defeated Nepal Army Club 2-1 in the final played at ANFA Technical Center at Devinagar.
Sankata was a goal down but Nirajan Khadka became hero and scored twice to help Sankata make a remarkable comeback. Rajib Gurung gave a lead to the Army Club scoring a goal in the 30th minute. However, Nirajan leveled the score in the injury time of the first half. Nirajan glittered again in the 85th minute of the match to seal the title victory.
Army, Sankata to vie for Tilottama title
Earlier this year, Sankata had defeated the Army Club in the finals of Bikas Running Shield in Chitwan and Ruslan Simara Gold Cup and clinched the knock-out titles.
Sankata's Binay Shrestha was declared the best goalkeeper of the tournament while Nirajan bagged the prize for the best midfielder. Army's Hiranya Magar and Deep Lama received awards of the best defender and the highest scorer respectively.
Sankata's coach Salyan Khadgi was declared the best coach of the tournament while Deelip Chhetri of the host team Rupandehi XI was awarded with the title of the best player of the tournament.
