KATHMANDU, May 28: Huawei Nepal hosted Mini Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Kathmandu, bringing together telecom operators, technical experts and industry leaders to discuss the future of Nepal’s digital ecosystem, according to a press release issued by the company.
The event followed major announcements made during the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona and focused on the commercialization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and next-generation network technologies.
According to the press release, Huawei highlighted the growing convergence between AI innovation and telecommunications, emphasizing strategies to support Nepal’s evolving digital infrastructure and connectivity demands.

The company said the event served as a platform to showcase solutions related to AI-powered networks and next-generation telecommunications systems.
Huawei also presented its AI-native framework for intelligent network operations, referred to as Agentic Communication Networks (ACN), which the company claims can support highly automated and autonomous network management.
In addition, Huawei shared insights into the commercial potential of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and mobile broadband technologies. The company demonstrated ultra-reliable transport systems designed to minimize disruptions caused by physical fiber cuts and improve monitoring capabilities, the release stated.
The press release further noted that Huawei proposed the development of AI-centric all-optical target networks aimed at increasing bandwidth, reducing latency and improving energy efficiency to meet growing data and cloud computing demands in Nepal.
Huawei also discussed its Digital Power initiative, which it said is intended to promote sustainable and intelligent infrastructure development.
