Huawei Nepal hosts Mini MWC 2026 in Kathmandu, highlights AI-driven telecom future

KATHMANDU, May 29: Huawei Nepal hosted its Mini Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Kathmandu, bringing together senior leaders and technical experts from Nepal’s leading telecom operators to discuss the future of the country’s digital and telecom ecosystem, the company said in a press release.



According to the press release, the event, held at Huawei Tower in Hattisar, follows key announcements made at the global MWC 2026 in Barcelona and focused on accelerating the commercialization of artificial intelligence (AI) and next-generation network technologies in Nepal.


Building on last year’s Mini MWC 2025, this year’s edition centered on the theme “Now Is Yours,” with Huawei presenting strategies to connect AI innovation with practical telecom applications and business value, the press release said.

Huawei showcased solutions under two major categories: AI for Networks and Networks for AI, aiming to support telecom operators in building more intelligent and efficient systems.


Among the key highlights was the introduction of Agentic Communication Networks (ACN), an AI-native framework designed to enable autonomous network operations (AN L4). The system is expected to help operators automate workflows and improve network performance and stability.


The press release further stated that the company also presented developments in 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology, including ultra-reliable mobile transport systems and proactive fiber monitoring solutions designed to reduce service disruptions caused by physical cable damage.


Huawei further proposed AI-centric optical networks, designed to support growing data demands from cloud services and consumer applications while improving bandwidth efficiency and reducing latency.
