Rajbiraj, Nov 24: Sakil Mia of the Janamat Party has been elected as a member of the state assembly from Saptari Constituency-1(B).
Mia defeated his nearest rival Sudambar Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) by 6,267 votes. Mia received 16,155 votes while Yadav bagged 9888 votes.
Efforts being made to bring Janamat Party back to govt
Mia, who was elected as a member of the state assembly, was in JSP until the local elections.
Satish Kumar Singh, Mahesh Prasad Yadav and Shambhu Kumar Sah of Janamat Party have already been elected from Saptari.
