KATHMANDU, Nov 20: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has formed a committee to select candidates for the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.
The Central Committee of RSP has constituted the candidate selection committee under the coordination of Co-General Secretary Bipin Acharya. The committee includes Secretariat member Birajbhakta Shrestha, central members Dr Chanda Karki and Rajan Gautam, with the provincial assembly speaker included as an ex-officio member.
For Rupandehi-3, the party has already decided to field Dr Lekhraj Thapa as its candidate.

The meeting also revised the name of the constitution amendment task force to “Constitution and Constitution-Related Law Amendment Task Force”, assigning central member Sobita Gautam as its coordinator.
In addition, RSP has formed three election-focused task forces: the Political Study Task Force, the Election Strategy Task Force and the Media Study Task Force.
The Political Study Task Force, chaired by Birajbhakta Shrestha includes Pukar Bam, Ganesh Karki and provincial assembly speakers Prakash Bist, Madan Khadka, Devaraj Pathak, Rajan Gautam, Achutam Lamichhane, Tapeshwar Yadav and Goma Tamang Sarin as members.
The Election Strategy Task Force, coordinated by spokesperson Manish Jha, includes Bishnukumar Shrestha, Tika Sangroula (Jwala), Parash Mani Gelal, and provincial assembly speakers.
Nisha Dangi has been appointed as the coordinator of the Media Study Task Force.
