KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), held a meeting with the European Union (EU) ambassador to Nepal, Veronique Lorenzo, on Thursday.
Pratibha Rawal, the central member and co-spokesperson of the RSP, informed Republica that the meeting held on Thursday at the RSP central office, Banasthali, discussed the relationship between Nepal and the EU over the past 50 years, with an emphasis on strengthening the ties in the future.

She said that RSP Chairman Lamichhane and Ambassador Lorenzo reviewed the 50 years of cooperation between Nepal and the EU and emphasized that stronger relations should be established in the coming days.Chairman Lamichhane urged Ambassador Lorenzo to take steps to remove Nepal from the blacklist of 'Air Safety List' maintained by the EU.
Ambassador Lorenzo said that this issue is a priority, and that the EU is collaborating with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to address air safety concerns systematically.
Lamichhane also expressed the importance of foreign investment and technical support in crucial sectors like energy and information technology for Nepal's development. He hoped that the EU would play a constructive role in this regard.
