Rs 100,000 to be provided to landslide-affecetd family

BHAKTAPUR, July 13: The Lama family, who lost their three members after a landslide buried their shelter at Majhuwa of Changunarayan Municipality-7 on Thursday, is to be provided Rs 100 thousand as immediate relief. 


A meeting of the district disaster management committee on Thursday took the decision to provide the immediate releif to the Lama family. Seventy-year-old Hira Lama, 65-year-old Panmaya Lama and two and half years old Sampada Lama were killed in the incident.

The committee has decided to distribute relief as foodgrains, clean water and clothes to the families displaced due to the inundation as well as to rehabilitate them through one-door system under the coordination of the local levels concerned and other stakeholder organisations. 


The meeting also decided to carry out necessary preparations under the coordination of the District Publioc Health Office to prevent diseases from spreading in the inundated areas and to form a quick response team comprising the chiefs of the local levels and the district-based security bodies for carrying out prompt rescue operation in possible future emergencies.
